What is an Autoload Duplicator?
Autoloaders use an automated system for moving CD/DVD/BD recordable media between devices for unattended duplication. Autoload Duplicators come either with Embedded PC, PC-Connected for PC asssisted operation, or are Standalone (no PC required). If it comes with an embedded PC, like the Rimage 5400N you simply need to connect monitor, mouse and keyboard; if PC-Connected like the Primera BravoPro, the connection is usually via USB on a host PC running Microsoft OS (MAC OS on some models). Standalone Autoloaders usually provide the user with keypad and LED screen interface for simple operation. Disc Printers which let you print directly on CD,DVDs, or Blu-rays are often available as options for Autoloading Duplicators. Check autoloader specs to see if they meet disc capacity requirements, have the right printer options, and if they offer the right operating system for your needs (embedded PC, PC-Connected or Standalone)
What is it used for?
Low volume to High volume CD/DVD/BD duplication, with unattended operation (50-2500 CDs per day). You can burn and print your Discs unattended, automatically, as opposed to Tower Duplicators which require manual loading. PC-connected Autoloaders like the Primera BravoPro Xi are good entry level duplicators. Professional Autoloaders like the Rimage 2000i, provide reliable, low to mid volume duplication. Also available are larger, higher output CD/DVD/BD autoloaders, designed for very high volume, 24/7 lights-out media production.
